By Ole Rollag When we were redesigning our website, when we came to the 'about us' page, I grew tired of begging everyone to write a biography.

Also, since we are growing,  trying to keep everything updated becomes rather time consuming.  So instead, we decided to just put up a link to our Linkedin profiles. This is a great way to keep our people's profiles fresh at all times. It has been working very well for us as it only further adds to transparency.

While we were getting comfortable with farming this part of our website out to social media, we started to see a role for our Facebook page as well. We thought it would be a great way to show the human side of our business such as the little wins and the snapshots of what goes on behind the scenes.

We are in the financial services industry. By definition, this is a very highly regulated sector where communication must be carried out very carefully. I kind of imagine it conceptually as a room that needs to be decorated - it must be carefully thought out.  However, showcasing the personal dimension is clearly an opportunity to to deepen the relationship with our clients.

We are having a pretty interesting debate about this on our Linkedin page. Feel free to step into the discussion, it would be great to hear what you have to say about this.
