I came across a great article by Stuart Breyer of MallowStreet that I want to share with you. I think he nailed it when it comes to explaining why investment management businesses need to have a social media strategy.

Bring up social media in a board meeting and most of the essence will probably get 'lost in translation' because our industry is so conservative.

The point Stuart makes very clearly is that we may be asking the wrong questions when it comes to debating the use of social media. How about phrasing it like this:

"Imagine a world where you could listen to your customers and engage in a two-way dialogue on their own time, and build advocates for your business."
